It’s almost time for our 9th Year Anniversary Weekend!  We work hard every year to come up with a variety of events and deals for this special weekend but the Painting Contest is the event where you all get to show off your amazing talent. We are looking forward to seeing all the new models that you've worked on over the last year and eager to show them off for everyone.

Painting Contest submissions will begin on Saturday August 3th and we will fill our case with all your amazing work.  We will have 3 different categories for submission: 

- Small Model: Submit a single model,  no more than 4 inches tall

- Large Model: Any single model 4 inches or taller

- Squad: A group of models (3 or more) with similar theming

• Painters can submit 1 entry per category for a chance to win in each
• Everything will be on display once submitted
• Voting will start on August 10th and go through August 17th 
• Winners will be announced on August 18th
• The winner for each category earns $50 in store credit and $50 worth of paint

Sign Ups for Summer Camps are Live!

We are excited to announce the return of our D&D Summer Camps and introduce our new Warhammer Painting Camp! Kids 8-15 who have an interest in Dungeons and Dragons, Miniatures Painting or both are encouraged to check out one or both camps!

We have put together a great bunch of Dungeon Masters that are ready to teach a whole new generation of adventurers about Dungeons and Dragons. 

We have 7 sessions lined up this summer with the first one starting on July 8th. Camps run Monday through Friday from 12:30PM-4:30PM each day. Campers will learn from the ground up how to create characters, get a basic rules overview and go through a full adventure including earning experience and leveling up their heroes.  

We give campers everything they need to get started including a Player’s Handbook, a set of dice, a dice bag and a miniature for their character.  Campers interested in painting can also attend our free Paint Clinic on Saturdays.  A light snack will be provided for each day for all campers and there are plenty of other snacks and drinks available for purchase.

New this year we have added a Warhammer Miniatures Painting Camp.  Campers will learn a variety of painting techniques during the week while they assemble and paint 2 miniatures.  Additionally they will be introduced to the basic rules of Games Workshop: Age of Sigmar Fantasy Battles game! 

We have 3 sessions for this summer with the first starting on July 15th.  Camps run Monday through Friday from 12:30PM-4:30PM each day. A light snack is provided during the session. 

Campers get everything they need for camp including a starter kit and a selection of paints and brushes that they can use during and after the camp.

First Camp Session is $300

We offer a $25 discount for additional sessions beyond the first (D&D and/or Minis camps - try both and save!) and campers are welcome to pick a different book if they already own a Player’s Handbook. 

Campers will be grouped by age whenever possible and we will try to do multi week campaigns for campers who sign up for multiple sessions

Spring has sprung and it’s time for spring cleaning at The Portland Game Store!
